Lab Safety Committee

MISSION

  • The SEAS safety committee mission is to facilitate safe research by promoting a culture of safety, health, environmental protection, and emergency preparedness for its constituent faculty, staff, and students.

MEMBERS

  • The SEAS Safety Committee is made up of members from SEAS labs, SEAS Facilities, EHS, and other key personnel across SEAS and the university. We welcome SEAS community members to join the committee.
  • Our members are part of a safety-committee email listserv. Safety officers are automatically added; if you are not a lab safety officer and would like to be included, please email Maryam Borton.

Meetings

  • Meetings happen monthly, except for January and the summer months. Due to SEAS operating in many buildings and areas, these meetings are generally held over Zoom to enable attendance. We do not record safety meetings, but share the slides. The meetings are scheduled monthly and the date and time are communicated via the safety-committee email listserv.
